Lowering Energy Costs

Making Maine competitive requires that we lower the cost of living and working in Maine—decreasing the cost of energy would directly benefit the bottom line of our industry and our families. We support the expansion of Maine’s natural gas capacity and bringing in Canadian hydropower. We support lifting the 100-megawatt cap on all forms of renewable energy because we believe that any kind of renewable, clean energy that will lowers prices for Mainers should be available now. In addition to saving ratepayers money, it would also spur the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in our state.
