Maine People Before Politics Announces Staff Changes

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 6, 2020
MEDIA CONTACT: Julie Rabinowitz, Executive Director, 207-292-2722 ext. 102, Julie@mainepbp.com

AUGUSTA—Maine People Before Politics (MPBP) announces that, entering its third year after reorganization, it has promoted Julie Dumont Rabinowitz of Falmouth to serve as executive director. Michael Hersey of Waterville will continue to serve as director of operations.

“When we revitalized MPBP in early 2019, our goal was to use the first two years as a rebuilding period with Mike serving as the acting executive director, with the vision of transitioning leadership of the organization eventually to Julie;  we are pleased that our plan has exceeded beyond our hopes,” stated John Morris, chair of the MPBP Board of Directors.

He continued, “We thank both Mike and Julie for their work to date. Mike will continue in his work to strengthen the organization’s operations, while as executive director, Julie will continue to provide the Maine people and the media with unique insights on state spending and the state’s economic outlook.”

Governor Paul R. LePage is the honorary chairperson of MPBP and serves as an ex-officio member of the board. Founded in 2011 as a non-profit organization, MPBP supports public policy that moves Maine’s economy forward and protects individual liberty.

“I have been delighted to work with Mike and help grow MPBP’s base of support while calling attention to what’s happening in Augusta,” stated Rabinowitz. “MPBP is committed to serve as a policy forum and a grass-roots organizing team for those who value smaller, more efficient government and preserving Governor LePage’s legacy of welfare reform and economic growth.”

Julie Dumont Rabinowitz has served as MPBP’s director of policy and communication since 2019. Prior to that role, she served as a senior policy advisor and press secretary to Governor LePage.
